Van Build
We kinda knew we'd like vanlife, so without ever having had any experience of sleeping in one we just bit the bullet and bought an old, pretty filthy, plumber's van and transformed it into a wee slice of '50s heaven.
Millport
Millport is a tiny wee town on the Isle of Cumbrae, a lovely wee ferry ride from Largs. We had our inaugural outing to Millport and we've returned so many times.
Dugs
We have two dugs, or dogs if you're a posh Glaswegian, or non-Glaswegian. Mulder and Scully were part of the reason we embraced vanlife and these two dugs have seen more of Scotland in three years that I saw in thirty!
Glencoe
The red squirrel campsite at Glencoe is a great site, but it marked the start of our vanlife advanture - waking up in a tent made solid by ice IN MAY really spurred us on to find a different way to see this beautiful country! Glencoe never fails to please and we were lucky enough to see the Northern Lights on the 10 May 2024!
Skye & Localsh
Skye and the Kyle of Localsh are quite breathtaking, in any weather. More than once we've headed north with no real destination, only to find ourselves on Skye.
Appin & Creagan
Before you get to Oban you go through Appin. There's some lovely beaches and bays along Loch Linnhe and a cracking wee site at Cregan for caravans vans and campervans overlooking Loch Creran.;
